FESTIVAL REGULATIONS

THE COMPETITION

The 2007 juried fine art competition for painters in all media. Will be held December 1-8, 2007 and is open to all artists from around the world.

ENTRY

The competition has a two stage entry procedure.
STAGE 1 - slides or digital submission up to three paintings
STAGE 2 - sending in pre-selected paintings for final judging

Deadline for entries - July 31, 2007 (postmarked)
Deadline for selected paintings - October 30, 2007
Exhibition and Announcement of Winners - December 1 - 8, 2007

THE THEME - “Caribbean Inspirations”

THE AWARDS

There will be a total of US$ 15,000.- Awarded as follow:

First prize - US$10.000,-
Second prize - US$2.500,-
Third prize - US$1.250,-
People’s Choice - US$1.250,-

Winners of the first, second and third place prizes are not eligible for the People’s Choice Award.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

- Paintings must be ready for hanging.
- Maximum framed size of paintings is restricted to 36” x 36” or 90cm x 90cm. Oversized paintings will be disqualified.
- Plexiglas, instead of glass, is recommended. Exposed glass / plexiglas edges will not be accepted.
- Your slides and paintings are entered at your own risk. Anguilla Art Festival Committee will not accept liability for loss or damage of any kind at any period during which the slides or paintings itself have been submitted. You are advised to take out your own commercial insurance to cover your artwork.

HOW TO ENTER

Artist must complete and submit:
- the enclosed registration form
- a maximum of 3 paintings may be submitted
- draft or money order in the amount of US $75.-, made out to The Anguilla International Arts Festival
- A brief, one paragraph, biography with the registration form
- Entries must be postmarked no later than July, 31, 2007

PREPARING YOUR SUBMISSION

Slides - Entries must be 35 mm slides of original artwork, conceived and created by artist. Digital submission - JPEG or TIFF files only (approx. 1024 x 768 pixels, no more than 1MB) or on a CD. The slides and Cd’s will NOT be returned unless international return postage coupons are enclosed with registration. Each submitted slide or CD must include: Title, size, medium (oil, pastel, acrylic, mixed, etc.) And Name, address, tel. number, e-mail address.

PREPARING SELECTED PAINTING

Two cards with the artist’s name, the title of the artwork, the sales price, and the artist address, telephone number and e-mail address must be accompany with each selected artwork. Attach one card to the back of painting.

SHIPPING INFORMATION

Shipping and insurance of paintings to and from Anguilla are the responsibility of the participant. While in Anguilla, entries will be insured by the AIAF to a maximum of US $1000,- or value of the artwork, whichever is less.

FESTIVAL REGULATIONS

- The winning painting will become the property of the Anguilla International Arts Festival.
- The First place winner will be offered airfare and accommodations to attend the competition.
- All entries must be offered for sale in Anguilla for a period of 3 months. AIAF retains a commission of 30% on all sales.
- The AIAF retains the rights to select a maximum of 4 entries to be reproduced as Anguilla postage stamps.
- Artist must arrange for the return of unsold paintings before March 31,2008
- Paintings unclaimed by April 31,2008 will become the property of AIAF.

NOTE: Artistes of pre-selected Paintings are encouraged to attend the Festival, although it is not required. Discounts on airfares, hotels and other elements will be provided at later date.
